Influencer Q&A with Ellese from @ellesechloe

When reading about Ellese don’t be surprised if you have a “how the hell does she do it all” moment. In todays Q&A we chat to her about how she got started with @ellesechloe, how she manages to juggle work, blogging and a marketing PhD, and her top tips for those looking to stand out on social media.

Tell us a bit about your background and how you came about starting @ellesechloe

My instagram started as just another personal social media account, documenting what I was wearing, eating and loving! As time went on though, I started putting more effort into my photography and shoots, and @ellesechloe evolved into what it is today! I’ve always been obsessed with fashion magazines, so my blog and Instagram act as my own personal mini-magazine, showcasing everything I love.

Describe a typical workday for you. (Life must be a constant juggling act between your PhD work and blogging!)

Everyday is completely different, thanks to juggling work, uni and blogging.

A typical day starts with an early morning barre class or run, before heading to Uni to teach for a few hours. Once my classes are over, I head to my office to get some PhD work out of the way – this could be anything from writing and researching to interviewing people to collect data. Over lunch I’ll usually catch up on my email inbox and get some of my freelance work done, before heading home to create content whilst the light is still good! Once photos are done for the day, I’ll exercise if I haven’t already, head to a fashion event or grab some dinner with friends.

Where do you get your content inspiration?

Everywhere! I’m a huge magazine fan, so a lot of ideas come from fashion shoots, especially from overseas editions. I also find a lot of inspiration from other bloggers, travelling and Pinterest.

Do you have any tips for influencers looking to market themselves on social media?

Be your authentic self! I think once you stop worrying about what others think, that’s when your content really starts to shine. Other tips include  trying keep a relatively consistent theme, post only what you love and try posting at least a couple of times a week.

What’s your favourite – Instagram or Snapchat?

Instagram! Though I also love following people’s day to day lives on Snapchat, especially bloggers living overseas! Such a cool, candid snapshot into the lives of others.
