Give Your Instagram a Facelift in Under 30 Minutes

From the outside, running an Instagram account seems like a simple task – take a photo, add a caption and upload it, right?

We of all people understand it’s not that easy. For both brands and influencers alike, there’s a lot of pressure to ensure our accounts are up to scratch. But whether your account needs a little nip and tuck, or a full-blown face-lift, there are ways to fix it. These simple tips will have you on your way to achieving the #instacred you deserve in no time.

1. Sign up to a visual planning tool

We think visual planning tools might be the best thing since sliced bread. These magical things allow users to plan the look of their feed by dragging and dropping upcoming posts.

The hardest thing about them is choosing which one to use. We love Planoly as it’s layout is clean, easy to use, and it allows you to track metrics such as new follower counts, comments and engagement.

2. Revise your bio (and add a link)

Your Instagram bio is one of the first things users see when they come to your profile so make sure it’s follow worthy. Play around with the wording until you find something you love, and don’t forget to take advantage of the clickable link option in your bio.

3. Download a photo editing app

Yesss, I hear you say, why do I need to download an extra app when I can just edit the photos in Instagram? Trust me when I say you won’t turn back once you’ve downloaded one. Although the Instagram edit suite has come a long way,  the external apps are far more superior and yield better results. Our favourites are Afterlight and Snapseed.

4. Reply to unanswered comments (and delete the spammy ones)

Replying to comments is one of most overlooked strategies, particularly for brands. When a user comes to your account and sees positive comments and feedback, it’s an instant winner.

On the other hand, there’s nothing worse than an account filled with spammy comments – “Cool” “nice” “sweet”.

Fortunately, it is possible to delete comments on Instagram. Tap on the comments section to access the comment screen. Swipe left on the comment you want to delete and press the red delete button.
